The target receives the ability to channel outer darkness as energy. The type of energy (and its effect) is chosen at the time that the ritual is performed. For instance, the target might be able to channel positive energy to heal living creatures but not to harm undead. This ritual may be performed multiple times on the same target. Each time the target receives the ability to channel a different kind of energy or effect. The target uses her hit dice in place of her cleric level in determining how many dice of energy she channels, and uses d7s instead of d6s.

This channel ability may only be activated in the same round that the target has killed a living creature, tearing open a hole between this plane and the Dark Tapestry. Activating this ability is an immediate action and does harm to the activator’s soul.

Critical Success: The energy channeled manifests as d9s instead of d7s, and see Arcane Ritual Critical Success Table.

Critical Failure: If living, the target permanently gains spell resistance equal to (11 + hit dice) against all Conjuration (Healing) spells. This spell resistance cannot be voluntarily lowered. See also Arcane Ritual Critical Failure Table.

Flaw: The energy channeled manifests as d5s instead of d7s.
